Lifestyle: Wine Bars

Most people these days are open to drinking or at least trying wine.  What better place than to experiment than at a wine bar.  There are so many new and exciting bars out there to try, yet there are some that have a not so attractive wine selection and/or a sad scene.  Here are a few things to look for when selecting a wine bar:

Simple
Some things to look out for while selecting one is make sure the people there are friendly.  If there not, they don’t deserve your business. Additionally, check the menu to see if they have a diverse set of wines or a wine flight.  Wine flights are great for testing a lot of different wines at one time for a good price.

Sophisticated
Check the ambiance.  if you don't feel comfortable, or it doesn’t feel inviting, then your search is not over.  With a great ambiance, comes great conversation with a new friend or two. You don't need to have highly educated people who go there, or fancy furniture, just something that is inviting to you since you will be going there.

Classic
Check Yelp.  This is one of the best ways to see if this is a popular and has a good reputation.  The wine list is another one, if everything is from California or Europe, you are most likely in a good spot.  Yet remember that Oregon and South America has great wines too, and if that is on their list, you have found your wine bar.
