Day 10: Eliminate Your False Sense of Entitlement.
-->
These days’ people feel as if they deserve
things right away. Taking the saying,
“fake it til you make it“ to literally.
This is wrong. Today, some people want recognition for showing up to
work on time, for not having kids out of marriage or for taking care of their
children. Additionally for achieving 100% their goal. Remember, 100% is the
goal, or the standard you are supposed to achieve.
You are supposed to take care of your kids
and show up on time. There shouldn't be
awards for these things. It is great
that people are in their kids’ lives, but remember when you were a kid, the one
thing you wanted was approval from your parents and to spend time with
them. Our kids are no different.
Humble yourself, and work for what you
get. Focus and put in a lot of hours to
gain the success you desire. A Marine
never entered boot camp and said the first day, I deserve those stars or
ribbons. They train, fight and defend
our country in order to earn those ribbons after the fact. Its almost certain that if you work hard,
focus and do the right things by making the right decisions, you will get the
accolades you seek.
Remember, just as
you kiss before you get married, just as you interview before you get the job,
just as the pitch is thrown before the homerun is hit, you must contribute hard
work before entitlement. Even a King
isn’t entitled his thrown, he must earn it or it will be taken from him. So get out there, work smarter and harder and
watch your entitlement arrive at your door step.
