Valentine's Day: The Flower

Valentine’s day is fast approaching, and for sure a gentleman must be ready for that special woman.  You must wonder, how can I make sure she this is not just an ordinary occasion, or that you are not an ordinary guy?  One way is to stand out when you give her flowers.

The first rule of flowers is that most men give flowers when they mess up, are about to or say sorry.  Do you best NOT to do that, because they know, and giving them loses their meaning.  The next rule, especially for Valentine’s Day, is to not always give red roses.  Although nice, they are expected. I’m not saying you ditch the roses; however here are a few suggestions to still make an impression, and Be KlassiQue.

Simple

Gerber Daisy.  These daisy’s, also known as African daisy’s, grow best in the warmer climates but can be found year round in certain places, especially being the fifth most cut flower in the world.  With the meaning of classic beauty and innocence, they are the largest and nicest looking daisies in the family.  You can find these throughout conservatories across the country because of their fantastic assortment of colors, size and longevity.  Sometimes the petals themselves have multiple colors on them, displaying a nice spectrum within a single flower.  People who receive these are amazed when the flower opens up and see the vibrant colors.    If she is a simple woman who appreciates something special, not by size but consideration, the Gerber daisy is for you.  Upgrade from your carnation or chrysanthemum, and the Gerber Daisy is your best bet to have put on her desk to see the next morning, and a warm feeling in her heart.

Sophisticated

Casablanca Lily.  Amongst the best in class, the Lilium, or lily is a great flower.  It’s one of the few that when given, can take over an arrangement gracefully over the course time.  The tepals open up a different times, displaying a beautiful flower that has an incredible fragrant presence.  They come in an assortment of colors, however the Casablanca Lily is at the top.  Being the largest, and most pleasantly fragrant of the species, it is also the longest lasting.  In some cases lasting 10-15 days, full bloom with proper care and attention.  You don’t need a lot of these to make an impression.  There is nothing better than Casablanca lilies with red roses, they look stunning, just like your guest that night should look.  She will enjoy these for many days to come.  So if she is a woman in which you want to wow now and for many days to come, watch here eyes sparkle as the Casablanca Lily’s visual and pleasant aroma will make this valentines’ day last for many days to come.  (One caveat, if she is Asian, white can be a symbol of death in some cultures.  Do some homework and if that is the case, use the pink and white ones, also known as the stargazer, as an acceptable substitute.)

Classic

Tulip.  The most all around impressive flower to give during Valentine’s Day is the Tulip.  Every spring, people are amazed and reminded how beautiful this flower is.  With a wide range of colors and ways to present itself, the tulip initially presents itself simply, however when blooming captures the essence of its meaning: perfect love.  There is no flower that blooms as graceful, complete and is as captivating as the tulip.  The best part is that on the outside, the tulip is so simple, yet on the inside a complexity of beauty that can be speechless.  No wonder why it is the most cut flowers for arrangements, and the fourth in the world, behind the rose and others.  If you want her to have butterflies in her stomach, her heart flutter with emotion, and her friends automatically see you as her best man yet, the tulip is for you.  It is the most classic move to set the mood right.
